Achievers

Year after year, we partner with our clients to plan incentive trips in the destinations we service.  We start with their “why” to deliver custom-curated experiences that reward and motivate their teams and highlight the local experience.  Our business thrives on reward-based programs, and our team members produce them on a regular basis.  When we thought about what to do to appreciate and incentivize our own team, this was the first thing that came to mind.  Hands down, this is the best way a company can allocate their budget, to recognize their top earners with an unforgettable experience.  In 2022, we set out to do just that, creating a 1-year program to motivate, identify and reward the top 20% of our company in Sales, Creative and Events.  In 2023, our inaugural class of qualifiers enjoyed a well-deserved trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico.  Read below as we share three different perspectives from our annual incentive trip, Achievers 2023.

Arrival in Paradise

My boyfriend and I enjoyed an easy non-stop flight to Cancun, and I love a morning flight, so we were one of the first to arrive. Upon arrival in Mexico, we were greeted by friendly private drivers to take us to the resort in Playa Mujeres. Once we got to the resort, it was like we were in our own little oasis. We had a private check-in which made life super convenient, and there were snacks, which is always a plus! Once we got to our room, we unpacked, received the cutest room-dropped gifting (who doesn’t love a branded belt bag amongst other vacation essentials) and headed back out to explore the resort with a margarita in hand.  We then spent some time reading under a shaded cabana while waiting for everyone else to arrive. And let me tell you, it was nice to fully unwind and enjoy some well-deserved time of no work and all play!

In the evening, we had an elegant tropical plated dinner with our guests. It was really fun to catch up with our fellow Achievers, meet their guests, have a nice dinner then dance the night away. This first night was the perfect way to kick off a relaxing and fun week in paradise with some of my Access family and our amazing support system!  The time that we get with our partner and the time to bond with our fellow Achievers is so special. There’s something great about our team, we’re able to have fun together and enjoy each other’s company, wherever we go (especially in paradise)!

Choose Your Adventure for Platinum Qualifiers

Access team members can qualify for the incentive trip at either a Platinum or Gold Level.  The Platinum winners arrived to the resort a day before our fellow Gold level winners, with the option to select an extra activity for the day.  We had the choice of speed boat and snorkeling, cenote swimming, golf or spa at the resort.  Considering that we got bring our guest along for the activity, I chose something my husband would really enjoy as well, since a large part of my success was due to his support over the years… so we went golfing!  Now, don’t get me wrong here – neither myself or my husband are avid golfers; we just wanted to do something active in the sunshine, close to the resort.  That being said, we did some foursome swapping within our group and paired up with another couple with the same mind set.  It was super fun getting to hang out with a coworker that I would never get to do so with normally, and have our significant others also hit it off.  It ended up being a fun – albeit also sweaty – day, but all in all, laughs were shared, many balls were lost and sunshine was soaked!  … Oh! And we saw an alligator!! Quite a memorable experience and I’m so grateful to our leadership and the planning team for the thoughtfulness in everything they planned for us for the week.  I love working for a company that rewards, not just their sales teams, but also creative and events and gives us motivation year after year to be the best we can be!

Ahoy Achievers

If I had to choose a favorite moment, I’d pick our boat day. For me, it’s nearly impossible to beat a day on the water!

On Wednesday, once the full group of Achievers arrived, we spent the morning at leisure. My sister and I spent hours in the pool. Then, the group embarked on a catamaran to Isla Mujeres. We were split between 2 beautiful catamarans that sailed side by side. First, we stopped to snorkel in crystal blue waters. The current carried us from our boat to underwater statues – we saw dozens of fish and coral along the way. After, we got back on the boat – where drinks and dancing (courtesy of Linda’s A+ playlist) awaited us. And we all know how much we love to dance! It was so nice to catch up with coworkers who I haven’t seen in years, relaxing on the bow of the catamaran, in awe of the color of the water (seriously - the bluest blue I’ve ever seen) as we cruised to Isla Mujeres. Here, we stopped next to our sister boat and all got to swim and float. Well, kind of float. The current was SO strong haha. Once getting back on board, we sailed around the island and headed back to the marina: dancing (again, because we all know that’s an Access favorite), soaking up the warmth and sunshine, and eating the BEST ceviche.

Achievers 2023 was an unforgettable experience with some of my favorite Access family that I will remember forever.  It was so special that I got to bring my sister along with me.  Travelling together is our thing, and she’s been a huge supporter for me throughout my career at Access, so I was so grateful to have the opportunity to share this special time with her.
